A Legend and His Legacy

This photo by Robert Capa inspired me to take the picture to the right because the photo reminds me of the vietnam war, and my photo was taken at the Vietnam memorial in Washington D.C. The person in the picture I took is looking at the names which gives emphasis to the memorial instead of the person.
The meaning of this photo is much deeper than what it appers on the surface. The man in my picture is not some ordinary man just looking at the memorial he is looking at a specific name, his grandfather's name. His grandfather was the man in the picture taken by Robert Capa. The man wanted to pay his late grandfather respect who he never ended up meeting, just hearing many legendary stories about. The photo is not so much a remake of the photo, as I was trying to steer away from doing that, but it is an extension of the photo many years in the future except the character has changed, but in a way that shows time has passed and the memories of that war are still with everyone.
The way the photo was taken, having the focus more on the memorial than the character, gives emphasis and importance to the memorial. Not that the character is not important, which is why he is close in the picture and not several feet away.
