Opposites

Final

This piece turned out very different than I originally intended when I set out for this shoot, but this might be one of my new favorite pictures. There was no way I could have predicted what the light on the tracks would look like at the time, however, the way it casts itself over the girl with the brighter colors and shades the girl in black create a unique touch that would be hard to recreate. Although for this I was forced to add a railroad track into the conceptual piece of the photo which was not included in the planning of this photo.

The girl in the black is visually the opposite of the girl in the colors, and the places they are standing seem to oppose each other between light and dark. The balloons represent the personality and inner person of each of the girls which shows that both the girls are the same inside and outside. The significance of walking on opposite sides of the track is to show that even though people may be walking of different side of the track they lead to the same destination like actual train tracks. The overall meaning is that people are more alike than most people believe which I believe is a very important topic especially with all the arguing between the people in America.
