Danger

Final

There is danger in the unknown, our future is unknown and what happens next can not be prepared for and this scares a lot of people. Although, fretting over the future is dangerous and will lead to no answers, I feel like it is scarier to forget about living in the moment and pass through life in a rush. If people don’t “stop to smell the roses” life flashes by and I see this happening often in the fast-paced lives we lead these days. The goal is to move on to the next goal, but why? Is it fun? Useful? Helpful? These robotic motions people go through seem dangerous because of all we might miss out on.

The subject walking on the railroad is to show the process of life’s path, we can not see the path too far into the future, but we follow it anyways. The black shadowy person is to represent the emptiness life can bring when we are not careful and rush through life. The piece acts as a warning, the black and white is to heed the viewer to not end up like this, to enjoy life and live in the moment instead of watching it blow by.
